About Hit the Road Dude AI
What Hit the Road Dude AI is, who runs it and how it makes the pickup truck meme video from one photo of your pet or yourself.

Hit the Road Dude AI (hit-the-road-dude.com) is an independent web tool that makes one thing: your version of the Hit the Road Dude meme. You upload one photo of your cat, your dog or yourself, and it returns a short vertical video of the original pickup truck clip in which your photo is the one telling the fishermen “State?” and “hit the road, dude”, with the original audio. It is a small independent site, not run by the creator of the original video, anyone in it, or any of the platforms named on this page.
Why We Built It
When the clip came back as an AI trend in October 2026, making your own version meant finding the original video, trimming it, and asking a general AI video app to swap the driver, then retrying until it worked. We wanted a page where you only bring a photo: the clip, the cut and the instructions to the AI are already set up.
How It Works
The site keeps two cuts of the original TikTok: a 5-second punchline and a 10-second version that starts with “I thought it was state property”. Your photo and the cut you pick go to the Wan 2.7 video editing model, which replaces the man in the truck with the pet or person from your photo, follows his head turns, gestures and talking mouth, and keeps the clip’s own audio. The video is 9:16 at 720p, with no watermark, and you can download it or share it to TikTok. Each video uses credits (6 for 5 seconds, 10 for 10 seconds), and credits go back to your balance if a video fails.
What We Are Not
Hit the Road Dude AI is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the creator of the original TikTok (@bird28thegr8), the man in the video, TikTok, Instagram or the makers of the AI model. The trend clips shown on this site are credited to their creators and are there to explain the trend.
Using It Responsibly
Only upload photos you have the right to use, get permission before putting another person in a video, never upload photos of children, and label your clip as AI-generated when you share it.
